what is a torrent file??

In the BitTorrent file distribution system, a torrent file is a computer file that contains metadata about files and folders to be distributed, and usually also a list of the network locations of trackers, which are computers that help participants in the system find each other and form efficient distribution groups called swarms. A torrent file does not contain the content to be distributed; it only contains information about those files, such as their names, sizes, folder structure, and cryptographic hash values for verifying file integrity. Depending on context, a torrent may be the torrent file or the referenced content.

Torrent files are normally named with the extension .torrent.

A torrent file is a specially formatted binary file. It always contains a list of files and integrity metadata about all the pieces, and optionally contains a list of trackers.A torrent file is a bencoded dictionary

Kickass Torrents (KAT) remains the most visited torrent site and continues to grow.

1. KICKASS TORRENTS

(update July 2016: KAT is down)
KickassTorrents was founded in 2009 and surpassed The Pirate Bay in traffic last year. Battling various censorship efforts the site has burned through a few different domain names over the years. Most recently it switched to a Costa Rican .cr domainafter it lost its Somalian .so address.

2. THE PIRATE BAY

The Pirate Bay is one of the main piracy icons. The torrent site wasn’t online at the beginning of 2015 and had to deal with a staff revolt. However, it quickly regained millions of users after a successful comeback operating from a hydra of domain names until last week.

3. EXTRA TORRENT

Extra Torrent continues to gain more traffic and has become one of the most active torrent communities. The site is also the home of the popular ETTV and ETRG release groups.

4. TORRENTZ

(Update August 2016: Torrentz has shut down)
Torrentz has been the leading BitTorrent meta-search engine for many years. Unlike the other sites featured in the list Torrentz does not host any torrent files or magnet links, but redirects visitors to other places on the web. The site uses several domain names with .eu being the most popular.

5. RARBG

RARBG, which started out as a Bulgarian tracker, was last year’s newcomer and continues to rake in more visitors. The site was blocked by UK ISPs last year, which put it on par with most other sites in the top 10.

Change the DNS settings of PC for increasing the internet Speed !!!!

Today we are going to talk about how to change the DNS settings to Google DNS   of our PC  for increase the internet speed      First, let me introduce the DNS for whom who does not know anything about it. DNS is stands for D omain N ame S ervers (or systems or service).  The  DNS  translates Internet domain and host names to  IP addresses . DNS automatically converts the names we type in our Web browser address bar to the IP addresses of Web servers hosting those sites. For example, the IP address of the www.google.com is  216.58.220.36. It means, when we enter the url www.google.com in the url bar of our internet browser then the DNS server convert this url in its ip address 216.58.220.36 .  Now, lets start the operation - 1. click on Start > Control Panel 2. In control panel, select Network and Sharing Centre 3. Then click on Change Adapter Settings 4. At this point, select your network adapter and click on Change Settings for this connection

Viruses- Types & Precautions

Types of viruses - Viruses types that are potential threats to computer systems today. 1) Worms - These malicious programs are designed to replicate themselves quickly with the intent to spread to other computers, often through a computer network. Although they may not be designed to intentionally impair computer systems, worms generally do some sort of damage or harm to the network itself by consuming bandwidth, at the very least. Most worms are designed only to spread as quickly as possible, so they may not try to change the computer systems they pass through. However, worms have been and are capable of creating backdoor security vulnerabilities, deleting files or even sending files via email. This is a common method for spam senders to spread junk email quickly, as the more computers the worms infect, the faster the spam mail spreads. 2) Trojan Horses - Trojan horses, or Trojans for short, are different from worms in that they are not designed to replicate t
